This blog shows only a sampling of the (literally) hundreds of pictures from our wedding at Dalhousie Castle 20 - December - 2007. There is no particular order to the way they are posted, so you can browse or use the menu bar on the right. Most are from our professional photographer (Tony Marsh) while a few were taken by friends and family at the event.
Handfasting is an ancient Scottish wedding ritual in which the couple's hands are tied together by ribbons of their families’ tartans (or in our case tartans of our choosing). Traditionally the hand fast was supposed to last for a year and a day after which time the couple could decide to make it permanent. This ceremony provides the origin of the phrase "tying the knot".
